Have you found yourself in a bind with unplanned expenses? Take advantage of our Skip-A-Payment program! You may elect to skip a payment on any auto, recreational vehicle or personal loan* you currently have with First Peoples. Even better...if you have more than one loan, you can skip a payment on each loan!
To get started with the Skip-A-Payment process, please use one of the following methods:
- Stop by any of our 16 convenient branch locations.
- Contact our Member Connection Center at (301) 784-3000 or (800) 655-8335.
- Log in to your account through FP@Home® online banking and save $10 off the normal Skip-A-Payment fee. Once you access your account via home banking, simply click on the gear icon next to that loan, select Skip a Payment. Choose the loan(s) you would like to skip by clicking on the check boxes, agree to the terms, and click Submit.
*By participating in First Peoples Community Federal Credit Union Skip-A-Payment program, you request that First Peoples defer your loan payment as indicated. You agree and understand that; 1)FINANCE CHARGES will continue to accrue at the rate provided in your original loan agreement, during and after this time; 2) deferring your payment will result in your having to pay higher total FINANCE CHARGES than if you made your payment as originally scheduled; 3)the payment deferral will extend the term of your loan and you will have to make extra payment(s) after your loan would otherwise be paid off; 4) you will be required to resume your payment on the first due date following the skip period; 5) a fee of $40 per loan will be deducted from your savings or checking account for this service at the time the request is processed. The fee will be reduced to $30 per loan if the request is submitted via FP@Home®; 6) if your loan payment is made through payroll deduction or automatic debit, your deduction will not change and the amount will be deposited into your savings/checking account; 7) new loans must have at least six (6) consecutive on-time loan payments to qualify for this option; 8) loans not eligible include: First Mortgages, all Home Equity Loans and Lines of Credit, Overdraft Loans (Line of Credit), Holiday Loans, Pledged Share Loans, Commercial and Visa Loans; 9) if you have any form of voluntary insurance or warranty coverage in connection with the loan on which you seek to skip a payment, you should ensure your election to skip does not affect your coverage (examples include but are not limited to: Credit Life, Credit Disability; GAP; Vehicle Warranty in connection with your loan-not manufacturer or other warranty). Some companies that provide these insurance or warranty services limit the number of extensions on covered loans which may include voluntary skip payments. Such products are provided by third party companies and not the Credit Union, therefore you will need to address any questions to those companies and review your policies/contracts; 10) Loans that have gone into payment modification are not eligible for the Skip-A-Payment option; 11) your loan(s) must be current and the account in good standing to accept this offer. First Peoples Community Federal Credit Union reserves the right to deny any Skip-A-Payment postponement with proper notification and disclosure. Eligibility requirements are subject to change without notice.
